The COB LED strip lights utilize the latest chip on board LED technology, which enables the direct mounting of more LED chips onto the PCB board, resulting in a smooth, uniform light output without visible dots or hotspots. The standard length is 16.4 feet per roll and can be cut to any size to meet your needs. We stock a variety of products, ranging from 3.7V to 24V DC, with widths from 2mm to 30mm. You can take the colors for your projects. We offer single-color, dual-white, RGB, RGBW, RGB+CCT, and addressable options. We recommend using our aluminum LED profiles to conceal LED strips and achieve uniform, even lighting in your space.
What does COB mean?
COB is the abbreviation of Chip On Board, the LED Chips in direct contact with a substrate to produce LED arrays on the flexible PCB boards. The new technology enables a significantly higher packing density of LED arrays, resulting in increased light intensity and greater light uniformity. It can significantly reduce the footprint and energy consumption while maintaining a constant light output.
What's the advantage of chip on board LED strips?
1. Dotless Light Output: No visible light dots for a smooth, continuous illumination.
2. Flexible & Thin Design: bendable and shaped like the SMD LED strips.
3. High-Density: More LED chips per meter compared to the traditional strip lights.
4. High Brightness & Efficiency: Brighter than the regular SMD LED strips at the same power.
5. Higher Color Rendering Index: The regular COB LED strips have a CRI of over 90Ra, and some products reach as high as 98Ra.
6. Wide Beam Angle: Typically 160° or more, ensuring even light distribution.
Comparison with SMD LED strips
| Feature | COB LED Strips | SMD LED Strips |
| Light Uniformity | Smooth, no dots | Visible individual LEDs |
| LED Density | High | Lower ( e.g., 30, 60 LEDs/m) |
| Heat Dissipation | Better due to direct bonding | Requires heat sinks at high power |
| Flexibility | Flexible but slightly thicker | Highly flexible |
| Cost | More expensive | More affordable |

Frequently asked questions
1. What colors can we order? In addition to the regular static colors —warm white, cool white, daylight, blue, red, green, etc. —we also offer tunable white, RGB, RGBW, RGB+CCT, and addressable options to meet your needs.
2. What working voltage products do you stock? We offer 3.7VDC, 5VDC, 12VDC, 24VDC products. You can use a power bank or batteries to drive the DC3.7V and DC5V products. You need LED drivers for 12V DC and 24V DC.
3. Can You Cut Them To The Length You Need?Yes, you can cut them from the copper points. For some extremely narrow products ( 2mm, 2.7mm), you will need to expose the copper pads by removing the double-sided adhesive tape. Then you can use our solderless COB LED connectors to connect them to controllers or drivers.
4. Do They Waterproof?Yes, we have different waterproof level products in stock: IP30 non-waterproof, IP65 weatherproof, IP67, and IP68 waterproof.
5. Are They Dimmable?Yes, they are. But you will need to connect to the dimmers to adjust brightness.
6. How to Hide COB LED Strips on Ceilings or Walls? You can use our aluminum LED channels to conceal them on ceilings or walls. We provide 300 additional models to meet your needs.
7. What Certifications Do They Have? Most of them are certified to CE and ROHS standards. Some models are UL-listed.
8. How Long Is The Warranty Period?2 Years.
