What is baseboard lighting?
Baseboard lighting is a type of architectural lighting installed along the bottom of walls or near floor level. The light glows softly near the floor, creating a modern, indirect lighting effect and reducing darkness. They can make your space feel larger, contemporary, and visually appealing. The lighting acts as a perfect nightlight, providing enough illumination to navigate a space safely. Specially valuable for hallways, staircases, and bathrooms, etc.
What LED Baseboards?
Those LED channels, also called skirting LED profiles, are made of extruded aluminum and can be installed along the bottom edge of walls where traditional base board molding would go, with integrated LED lighting for a clean, modern finish. They can accommodate and conceal the flexible strip lights and also serve as heat sinks to improve heat dissipation and extend LED light lifespan. The diffused covers evenly distribute light for soft, smooth illumination that enhances the aesthetics of your space. They serve both decorative and functional purposes, combining ambient lighting with a neat architectural finish. You can use them in hallways, staircases, corridors, and living spaces.
Benefits:
- Enhances architectural aesthetics by outlining spaces elegantly
- Provide indirect ambient lighting that's comfortable for the eyes
- Can serve as night lighting or safety guidance in dark areas
- Protects LED strip lighting from dust and impact, and works as a heat sink for better heat dissipation
Applications:
- For residential interiors: Living rooms, hallways, bedrooms, etc
- Hotel corridors and lobbies
- Retail stores and showrooms
- Theaters or cinemas for subtle floor lighting
- Offices or meeting rooms to create low-level ambient light
How To Install Them?
1. Measure and choose the correct skirting board light profiles: Measure the height and length of your walls and pick the model you need that will blend into your existing interior design.
2. Determine the type and color of strip lights you want to use.
3. Prepare the surface of the wall: Clean the place where the profiles will be installed.
4. Follow the installation steps and install the light tracks properly. You can use three types of joiners (90°, 90° vertical, and 180°) for straight or angled connections at longer lengths.
5. Install the strip lights and lead out the power wires, then clip in the diffused covers.
6. Connecting the LED lights to a power source and controller. For advanced setups, you can integrate them into your smart lighting system.
7. Test the lighting system: Power on the lighting strips and test that everything is working correctly.
8. Hide the exposed wires, clean the aluminum channels, and remove the protector on the diffusers.
